As friends and colleagues collectively yawn with regards to Apple’s latest OS offering, developers rejoiced. With Apple’s launch of Snow Leopard, I was eager to dig into the new frameworks available – especially Grand Central Dispatch and OpenCL.
As a result, I will make a few posts exploring this new technology, and hopefully learn a thing or two. Before going further, however, I highly recommend reading Ars Technica’s overview of Grand Central Dispatch.
More important than the overview, however, is Apple’s Concurrency Programming Guide. Thou shall read it thrice!
